AM Clinical Observation 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM (the AM Clinical Observation spots are limited, once the AM fills up we will open up an afternoon session)

HOURS OF INSTRUCTION:
3 DAY Program (Didactic, Hands-on and Clinical Observation): 15 hours of instruction

2 DAY Program (Didactic, Hands-on): 12 hours of instruction 

 

NOTE:

Registration for this course is open to dentists, RDHs and CDAs however please note that the curriculum for the Geriatric Dentistry program has been developed primarily for dentists.  Although  some of the topics are geared specifically to dentists (oral surgery and restorative dentistry), there are many topics that are relevant to all dental professionals including, frailty syndrome/oral frailty, rapid oral health deterioration and geriatric treatment planning.

All fees are charged in $CAD / Please be advised that UBC Continuing Dental Education (CDE) does not provide T2202s to participants. Our programs do not meet the criteria established by CRA for the issuance of such forms.

IMPORTANT: This program has received funding to support a tuition subsidy for a limited # of new graduates (less than 5 years since graduation from dental school) which covers half of the course tuition. Grads must be Canadian citizens or Canadian PR. Please note: Out of province dentists attending this program are not required to have a temporary license to practice as the clinical component of this course will be observation only. Dentists will not be treating or examining patients.

Course Content:

For some clinical/hands-on courses, instructors may need to contact participants individually regarding course content. By clicking on ‘I agree’ the participant consents to UBC CDE sharing the participant’s name and email address only with the instructor.

Attendance Reporting

Following completion of the course, UBC Continuing Dental Education will send you a letter of participation by e-mail. It is the responsibility of all oral health professionals to determine the CE credit eligibility of all courses and to accurately and truthfully submit their hours of attendance to their licensing body if applicable.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Limited Enrolment Courses require a minimum of 21 days notice for a full refund less $100.00 administration fee. Cancellations made between 21 and 14 days prior to the first day of the program will receive a 50% refund. No refund will be granted for cancellations made less 14 days prior to the first day of the program. Continuing Dental Education at The University of British Columbia reserves the right to cancel courses or switch instructors if deemed necessary by low enrolment, instructor cancellation or other unforeseen issues. In case of course cancellation a full refund will be issued.
