5 DAY SURGICAL PROGRAM: Thursday, October 17 - Sunday, October 20 AND Saturday, November 2 OR Sunday, November 3, 2024 - Up to 42 Hours of Instruction
3 DAY DIDACTIC PROGRAM: Thursday, October 17 - Saturday, October 19, 2024 (includes lectures & 2 live demo surgeries) - Up to 25 Hours of Instruction

8:00 am – 5:00 pm approx. 
Includes continental breakfast, lunch and handouts

Out of province dentists attending the five day program must obtain a temporary license through the BCCOHP to attend the hands-on surgical course. Please visit the BCCOHP website to apply; oralhealthbc.ca (Please check with the BCCOHP well in advance for processing times)

Licensing and Indemnity

If you are attending a Continuing Dental Education clinical/hands-on course at UBC involving patients (including participants being patients), it is your responsibility to have a current practicing license, with malpractice insurance of at least $3 million. Out of province dentists must obtain a temporary license from the BC College of Oral Health Professionals. https://oralhealthbc.ca/ (please allow ample time for processing)

All auxiliary staff attending UBC patient courses must have the appropriate license and adequate insurance.

Participants attending any UBC Continuing Dental Education course agree to indemnify and hold harmless The University of British Columbia, its Board of Governors, officers, employees, agents and representatives against any and all liabilities, losses, claims, demands, costs and expenses whatsoever, including legal fees, arising from their course attendance.

Course Content

For this program, instructors/staff from West Coast Institute (WCI) will contact you directly regarding the clinical sessions and patient selection. For this purpose UBC CDE will share your name and email address with WCI.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
This course requires a minimum of 60 days notice for a full refund less $100 administration fee. Cancellations made between 60 and 30 days prior to the first day of the program will receive a 50% refund. No refund will be granted for cancellation made less than 30 days prior to the first day of the program. Continuing Dental Education at The University of British Columbia reserves the right to cancel courses or switch instructors if deemed necessary by low enrolment, instructor cancellation or other unforeseen issues. In case of course cancellation a full refund will be issued.
